Face Reading in Business – Leadership Reading

«When I can read people correctly, I know how to motivate, support, strengthen and lead them.»

This skill is not fortune-telling or luck. It comes from an ancient art of observation called face reading. Here is what it is, and how you can use it in business.

Not Fortune-Telling

Face reading has nothing to do with fortune-telling. It is a very old art of observation. It is based on the idea that personality, talents and life path show in a person's face, much like rings inside a tree trunk show its age. Every line, every shape and every proportion tells part of someone's story.

Face Reading – Body Language – Profiling

Words can be chosen carefully. Body language can be trained. Both can be misleading, on purpose or not. The face is different: its shapes, lines and proportions form over many years and are hard to fake. Reading the «hands in the face» is also an important part of face reading. Face reading is part of a bigger field called profiling. Profiling looks at a person's personality, character and behaviour in a systematic way, with a strong focus on language, choice of words and gestures. Together, these two methods work perfectly.

Decision-Making in HR

Today, most employees are found through digital, automated and modern recruiting channels. But the final decision still happens in a personal conversation, and no AI can replace that, unlike a written application. This is where it gets interesting. I often notice that what people say and show does not match what I read in their face. They are playing a role instead of simply being themselves. Learning to see that, in others and in yourself, is what makes face reading so exciting. I know this from my own experience with employees: it is remarkable how convincing some people are in a job interview, and what they promise. Reality later often told a very different story. Because of this, I also offer support as a silent observer during job interviews. Afterwards, I discuss with the management team what I read in the candidate's face.

A Look That Sees More Than a First Impression

A reading does not start with a judgement. It starts with careful observation. I look at the basic shape of the face, its proportions, distinctive lines and features such as moles or scars, and see how they relate to each other. In job interviews, communication and language also play a big role. From all of this, a picture emerges that goes far beyond a first impression: What talents does this person have? What issues may have followed them for a long time? Where might they be holding themselves back?

Face Reading in Business

Face reading is not a secret trick. It is a tool with many uses. Leaders use it to build teams more accurately and to spot hidden conflicts earlier. HR professionals gain an extra, reliable layer of insight beyond a CV and cover letter. Salespeople read the other person faster and adjust their approach more precisely. And on a personal level, people benefit too, when they want to see their own talents and blocks more clearly, whether at work or in life.
